British companies
There are several types of Companies in Great Britain, the two main ones are :
- PUBLIC LIMITED COMPANY
- The Public Limited Company is constituted with a minimum capital of £50.000, of which 25% must be liberated. This sort of Company is therefore of far less interest to us.
- PRIVATE LIMITED COMPANY
- The Private Limited Company is the most conveneant for members of the EEC. It can be set up with just one shareholder. The Companies Act 1985 as amended by The Companies Act 1989 regulates Limited Companies. The Registrar of Companies in Cardiff is the only body able to accept your Company name, which must always include the word "Limited", or Ltd at the end of it.
